Pre-Deployment Family Fun
Like all pre-deployment families...we tried to squeeze in some family fun before his departure. Thursday was New Years Day and we decided to chance Legoland. I tried this a few years back on Christmas Eve and it was a crazy nightmare of people - EVERYWHERE. Jeff thought it would not be too bad and he was right! We had tons of fun and the wait time for the rides was pretty minimal for it being the holiday season. Jonathan even got to tag along this time. Thankfully, with him being almost two, he was *pretty* good about staying with us and not wandering away. Let's just say that going to Legoland works when the parent to child ratio is 2:3 but it would have been a miserable fail if it had been 1:3. We rode rides and Jon is now officially 34 inches - the minimal height required for many of the rides at the park! Yay! We ate good food, we looked at Mini-land and while Jon took a little siesta, the older kids and Jeff went and built dog houses and superheros with Duplo blocks. Topping it off was perfect San Diego weather - about 72 and not a cloud in the sky. We could not have asked for a better day.
